In my Hobart studio, I work with clay as both a material and a creative partner. I’m a self-taught ceramicist, drawn to slipcasting for its precision and versatility: The balance between technical control and versatility, and creative possibility.
Over time, I’ve developed my own blended clay body, refined a collection of functional forms, and built a library of glazes and finishes that define my style. Together, these elements form a collection that’s durable, practical, and cohesive, while still carrying the hand-made character of each stage in the process.
My core range focuses on balance, where function meets design, and everyday rituals are made special through thoughtful craftsmanship.
Working with clay brings its own challenges, and I try to let those shape my approach: creating tactile forms that embrace natural lines, textures, and imperfections.
I draw so much inspiration from the Tasmanian landscape and wilderness. Its colours and moods are reflected in my glazes, finishes, and forms. Each piece is designed to be used and enjoyed in daily life.
Alongside my tableware, I’m also developing a series of abstract works that move beyond function, exploring personal responses to place and time. I look forward to sharing these soon.
