Dolerite is named for the dark, still rock formations that rise straight out of Tasmania's valleys, brooding columns of grey and black against the bush. The glaze sits deep and dark, with the kind of weight and stillness those formations hold. They cast long shadows across the landscape below, but they also work as landmarks, fixed points you can navigate by.
